The short answer
Swat.io is built for editorial teams and agencies that look after many brands and handle all incoming messages in one place.
kontiqo is built for independents and small businesses where a few people create and publish posts.
Both schedule and publish, both answer comments, both know roles and approvals. If you only need those three things, price decides - and the gap is wider than the numbers first suggest.
First: net against gross
This belongs in front of every price line, otherwise the comparison tilts.
Swat.io quotes net ("Alle Preise exkl. MwSt", pricing page, retrieved 21 September 2026). kontiqo quotes gross ("Alle Preise inkl. 19 % MwSt.", pricing page, retrieved 21 September 2026).
34.90 against 39 looks like a difference of 4.10 euros. On the same basis:
- kontiqo Basic: 29.33 net / 34.90 gross
- Swat.io Small: 39 net / 46.41 gross
So the real gap is considerably wider than the apparent one. Businesses that reclaim input tax care about the net figure, everyone else about the gross one - which is why both are here.
What both can do
Publish and schedule across several channels, with their own timing per channel.
Answer comments. In kontiqo, comments from LinkedIn, Facebook and Instagram arrive in one inbox with the states new, replied and ignored. The inbox itself is included in every paid plan; from the Pro plan a drafted reply in your own writing style comes on top.
Work as a team. On the Business plan, kontiqo has three roles - owner, admin and editor. An editor writes and submits for approval and does not decide about access. Swat.io offers the same basic pattern with post statuses, approval processes, assignment and a permission system.
What Swat.io does and kontiqo does not
- Direct messages and ticket logic. In kontiqo, comments land in the inbox, direct messages do not. Swat.io takes both and distributes them across the team with assignment and prioritisation.
- Monitoring. Watching what is written about a brand, product or competitor. kontiqo does not have it. Swat.io offers it on request - it is in none of the three packages (pricing page, retrieved 21 September 2026).
- Many channels and brands. Swat.io scales through separate workspaces up to agency size. In kontiqo, one account owns exactly one company.
- A permanent comment archive. kontiqo anonymises comments after 48 hours - more on that below, because it is both a limit and an intention.
What kontiqo puts at the centre
- Turn a voice note into a finished post. That is the core: you speak the idea, the post is there in minutes. In every paid plan; speaking itself does not count against your monthly allowance.
- Learn your own voice. kontiqo learns from your published posts and from which suggestions you take and which you discard. And strictly from your own account: no one else's post text enters your suggestion.
- Generate images. An image is created for the post, with your logo if you want.

kontiqo's Business plan with roles, approval and team analytics costs 79.90 euros gross and includes two seats; each further seat costs 11.90 euros gross and brings the full Pro allowance with it.
The 48 hours we have to be honest about
kontiqo deletes the author name of a comment after 24 hours and the comment text after 48. After that you can see that a comment existed and how you handled it - but not its wording.
For LinkedIn this is a requirement set by LinkedIn itself: anyone retrieving comments through its interface may store a member's text for at most 48 hours and cache their profile data for at most 24 hours. For Facebook and Instagram we apply the same limits - a comment is another person's text, and storing it indefinitely with a third party needs a good reason.
But it is also a real limitation. Anyone wanting to reread what somebody wrote three months ago cannot do that in kontiqo. If you need that, you need a different tool.
A difference that is easy to miss
Swat.io explicitly contracts only with businesses, not with consumers ("Wir schliessen keine Verträge mit Verbraucher:innen", pricing page, retrieved 21 September 2026). Anyone building a personal brand as a private individual cannot sign up there.
Where kontiqo is not the right choice
If you look after several brands or clients separately, if direct messages are part of your daily work, if you need to monitor what is being said about you, or if you need a permanent comment archive - then Swat.io is the better fit, and the price difference stops being one.
When these prices were checked
All prices in this post were verified on 21 September 2026 on each provider's own pricing page - that retrieval date sits next to every source below. Pricing pages change; if you are subscribing today, check the figure there.
